The Government’s Regulator of Social Housing is creating a new system for assessing how well social landlords such as Southway are doing at providing good quality homes and services.

Among other things, the system will involve a set of Tenant Satisfaction Measures that landlords must report on every year.

Social landlords would have to publish how well they are performing in various areas such as repairs, property standards, complaints handling, keeping tenants informed and neighbourhood issues such as anti-social behaviour.

This will help tenants to quickly and easily understand how well their own landlord is doing and also to compare them with other housing providers. It will also help the regulator identify which social landlords need to improve their performance.

As part of this consultation, the Government wants to hear from tenants about which areas relating to their tenancy should be included in the new measures. The deadline for sending your views is 3rd March 2022

You can find out more by reading the Easy Read booklet, which explains the consultation in simple to understand terms, asks some questions and tells you how to send in your answers.

Alternatively, tenants can read more detailed information about the consultation here and also fill in the online survey here
