Why we are building

  • The purpose of our further housing development and acquisition...

    We have firm ambitions to grow and diversify, and new housing development and further acquisition forms a key part of our Futures Strategy. The purpose of these activities, in line with the wider Futures Strategy, is:

    • To increase the supply of housing in areas that are in or close to South Manchester, improving the range and choice of housing available for those who currently have limited or no access to a decent, safe and secure home.
    • To generate financial surplus that can be used to help fund our core business and social objectives.

    We have successfully bid for funding through the HCA to provide 291 Shared Ownership properties. In addition we will be delivering new homes for Affordable Rent, Outright Sale and Market Rent. See the full list of these below

What we are building

  • Park View (Vine Street), Gorton

    46 Shared Ownership homes, built in 2 phases:

    • 17 X 2 Bedroom Houses
    • 29 X 3 Bedroom Houses

    On site with proposed completion date of November 2018.

  • Hartington Road, Altrincham

    42 new build apartments in two and three storey blocks for Market Rent.

    Enabling low cost home ownership in a popular residential area and a desirable neighbourhood.

    Building work has begun, completion is scheduled for May 2019/.

  • Minehead, Withington

    The Age Friendly development consists of 64 units:

    • A mixture of 31 x 2 bedroom Houses and Apartments for Shared Ownership
    • 33 x 1 and 2 bedroom Apartments for Affordable Rent
    • Community Café and Treatment Room

    On site with completion expected in October 2019.

  • Regent Road, Altrincham

    The site is located in Altrincham Town Centre, immediately adjacent to the old hospital site which is currently under redevelopment as an NHS Hub.

    The proposal is to build:

    • An apartment block of 14 units for Shared Ownership
    • An apartment block of 5 units for market rent
    • 6 x 2 bed cottage houses fronting Regent Road, to be sold on the open market

    The site has been acquired:

    • Phase 2 and 3: The Shared Ownership and Market Rent Apartments are expected to start on-site by 2019 (this has yet to be confirmed).
