We have firm ambitions to grow and diversify, and new housing development and further acquisition forms a key part of our Futures Strategy. We build and acquire to:

  • Increase the supply of housing in areas that are in or close to South Manchester, improving the range and choice of housing available for those who currently have limited or no access to a decent, safe and secure home
  • Generate financial surplus that can be used to help fund our core business and social objectives

We have successfully bid for funding through Homes England to provide 291 Shared Ownership properties. In addition we will be delivering new homes for Affordable Rent, Outright Sale and Market Rent:

  • Minehead, Withington

    Status: Site currently locked down, awaiting further advice

    The Age Friendly development consists of 64 units for Shared Ownership and Affordable Rent:

    • 10 x 2 bedroom houses for Shared Ownership - all completed and all sold
    • 21 x 2 bedroom apartments for Shared Ownership
    • 33 x 1 and 2 bedroom apartments for Affordable Rent
    • Community Café and Treatment Room

    The 10 Houses on-site were completed in July 2019 and are in 12-month defects.

    The remaining apartments, Community Café and Treatment Room are due to be completed in May 2020.

  • Regent Road, Altrincham

    Status: Site currently locked down, awaiting further advice

    The proposal is to build 2 apartment blocks and 6 cottages for Market Rent, Shared Ownership and Outright Sale.

    • New Street: 15 apartments for Shared Ownership
    • Normans Place: 4 apartments for Market Rent
    • Weavers Cottages: 5 x 2 bed cottages and 1 x duplex apartment for Outright Sale - Complete in 12 month defects

    Work has started on Weavers Cottages, which will be sold by Novo.

    The commercial leases on New Street have terminated, with new contracts to be signed in March 2020.

    Work has yet to commence on Normans Place and New Street.

    Following the original contractor for this scheme going into administration, negotiations are taking place with a new contractor. Completion is expected for around March 2021. 

  • Abbey Hey Extra Care scheme, Gorton

    Status: Site currently locked down, awaiting further advice

    This site will consist of 106 units for Social Rent:
