A group of Southway Housing staff have been learning British Sign Language (BSL) as part of our commitment to inclusivity and equality.
The group was made up of volunteers from across the organisation and their new skills will help us to communicate better with customers, colleagues and members of the community who are deaf or have hearing disabilities.
It is envisaged that more Southway staff will learn basic BSL in the next 12 months, while members of the existing team will also be looking to enhance their abilities with more advanced qualifications.
We wanted to demonstrate the progress they have made and also share a very special Christmas message from the team.
