As a community organisation, we place huge value in investing in people and enabling them to thrive. So we are pleased to be launching six new roles for 16-24 year olds in receipt of Universal Credit through the Government’s Kickstart Scheme.

Kickstart roles are six-month paid job placements for 25 hours per week. They will be a fantastic opportunity to gain skills and insight into working in an area of housing, alongside our knowledgeable and friendly teams.

Roles available

The six roles available are:

Trainee Commercial & Leasehold Assistant

This role will provide an administrative and organisational support to the Trusts leasehold and commercial customers ensuring they are managed in accordance with the terms of their leases, legislation, regulation, and best practice. You will gain experience in areas such as customer service, invoicing and database management

Trainee Finance Assistant

In this role, you will be learning to process and match rental transactions, review suspense accounts, identify and resolve discrepancies. You will also gain experience in how to reconcile movements in stock numbers to the rent debit for all tenure types, and provide support to the wider Finance Team.

Trainee Corporate Services Assistant

This is a project assistant role to work alongside the Business Change Project Manager, and other teams and suppliers on upcoming projects. You will gain experience of areas such as project implementation and planning, change management, process mapping and agenda setting.

Trainee Operational Assistant (Building Trades) x 3 AVAILABLE

In this role you will be trained to provide comprehensive labouring support to the operative teams in accordance with appropriate safety regulations, maintaining the standards and policies of the organisation. You will be trained to assist with tasks such as preparing and carrying out groundworks, preparing and mixing of building materials, and use of electric and hydraulic machine tools.

How to apply

To be eligible you need to be between 16–24 years old and claiming Universal Credit.

To apply, you will need to discuss this with your Jobcentre Plus Work Coach, who will then approve your choice of vacancy and refer you.

About the Kickstart scheme

Kickstart is a national scheme providing funding (from the DWP) to create new jobs for 16 to 24-year-olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long-term unemployment. Employers of all sizes can apply for funding which covers 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months.
