There are places for customers on our Board and Committees, to make sure tenants are represented at the highest levels at Southway. They work with Southway’s Executive team to shape services, set future goals, and hold staff accountable for delivery of services to our tenants.
Board and Comittee members are remunerated for their role. Appointments are skills-based.

The purpose of the Scrutiny Panel is to look at how Southway delivers its services and how much it costs. The Panel then reaches its conclusions and makes recommendations to Southway’s People and Places Committee to ensure that tenants receive the best and most efficient services possible. There is a fair amount of commitment involved and the Panel tend to meet every fortnight while carrying out a review.
In the latest edition of Southway Stories, the Tenant Scrutiny Panel has invited you to say which of the following subjects you would like the panel to discuss and review first.
Improving how we communicate with you about repairs
Improving the quality of information we give on service charges and how we explain them
Mutual exchanges (when a tenant swaps homes with another Southway tenant or one from another housing association)
The panel also asked you to share any ideas you had for topics related to Southway’s communities and its services the panel should discuss.
We would love to hear from you, and we would be really grateful if you could complete the form below to give us your ideas. Or you can contact us by email: yourvoice@southwayhousing.co.uk or call us on 0161 448 4229.
Please give us your ideas by Monday 1 June.
Please note the panel can only discuss topics related to Southway’s communities and its services. All relevant ideas will be passed on to the panel for consideration.
