Southway is led by a Board that sets our direction and makes sure we're delivering high-quality homes and services, managing money responsibly, and planning for the future. The Board is supported by two specialist committees:
-
Customer Voice Committee focuses on the delivery of our affordable landlord services, making sure that customer views and experiences are taken into account when decisions are made. The committee reviews feedback from tenants, resident groups and consultations.
-
Audit and Risk Committee helps make sure Southway is well run, manages risks effectively and uses its resources responsibly. It reviews audits and performance information and reports back to the Board.
Our Executive team is responsible for the day-to-day running of Southway and for putting the Board's decisions and plans into action.
You can find information about our Board and Committee members and Executive team, including their responsibilities, below.
Our Board and Committees are made up of people from a broad range of diverse backgrounds with a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience. Some are Southway customers, some are nominated by Manchester City Council, and others are independent members who bring specialist expertise. Board and Committee members are appointed based on the skills and experience they can contribute, and these are paid positions.
Declarations of Interest
To help us be open, honest and transparent, all Southway colleagues, Board members and Committee members record any interests that could influence their role or decision-making. This information is published in our Declarations of Interest Register, which is reviewed by the Board each year and is available for anyone to view.

Customer involvement
Customers also support our Board and Committees, helping shape our services, through involvement groups including our Service Influence Groups and tenant scrutiny activities. These groups provide feedback, challenge our performance and help influence decisions. Find out more about these groups and how you can have your say on our Get Involved pages.
How decisions are made
This diagram shows how the groups we've shared above are connected and how customer views help shape decisions across the organisation.
