    • We will build and develop...

      Burnage Lane Extra Care

      56 units for Social Rent, 56 1 and 2 bed apartments, plus a Community Café and Treatment Room

      Mauldeth Road Apartments

      14 units for Social Rent,  8 2-bed apartments, and 6 1-bed apartments

    • We will provide these Age Friendly services...

      Burnage Legacy Trail

      We'll create a trail throughout the neighbourhood linking green spaces, wildlife initiatives and areas of historical interest whilst promoting health & activity.

      Slipper Exchange & Fall Prevention

      We'll work with partners in the Health sectorr to proactively prevent falls in older age. The initiative exchanges badly fitting slippers with new ones and providing help and advice of fall prevention within the home.

      Age Friendly Burnage Board

      We'll support the resident-led board to become self-sustained.

      Age Friendly Burnage Action Plan

      We'll continue to work with local older people to deliver the actions identified through the research they contributed to.

      Burnage Communication Project 

      We'll improve communication throughout the neighbourhood by training older people to become community reporters and to share information locally.

      Age Friendly Housing 

      • We'll create appealing and desirable housing choices for people over 50.
      • Burnage Extra Care Scheme will be built this year and open in 2020.
      • We'll undertake a review with tenants living in our existing bungalow sites in Burnage to make improvements.

      Clamping down on off-road bikes in your area

      In partnership with Greater Manchester Police Service and the City Council. 

      Delivering the ASB STAR Survey Action Plan

      Beginning by forming an ASB Service Improvement Group in June.

      Working with Burnage Primary Schools

      We'll deliver environment workshops to teach young residents about green projects. 

      Working towards carbon-reduction targets at Burnage Extra Care

  • Funding

    Do you have an idea for a community initiative that would make Burnage an even greater place to live?

    The Beautiful South Fund is funding of up to £2,500 for any group or individual with an idea focussed around community projects, whether they are big or small, that help improve and bring people together within your neighbourhood. The theme of the fund is neighbourliness.

    Some community initiative ideas could include:

    • Improving green space
    • Funding local footy team
    • Coffee mornings
    • Neighbourly meet ups
