    We are collating useful community information, which can be used by any member of staff who is in contact with tenants, or is supporting the Check and Chat Telephone Befriending Service, which will operate during the COVID-19 crisis.

    The information will be updated regularly.

    For the duration of the Covid 19 outbreak all food bank referrals are dealt with by Elaine Wilkinson sent via usual referral channels:

    The usual food bank rule of issuing only 3 vouchers per household every 6 months will be relaxed during the outbreak period. The number issued will be by referrer discretion prioritising cases of severe hardship rather than cases of poor budgeting.

    Due to the closure of the Southway reception; hard copy vouchers issued by Southway will no longer be collected by clients. We are arranging to text the voucher code to the client supported by an email to the food bank with the details usually supplied on the voucher (year of birth, no in household etc.) The client to take the code to the food bank as proof of referral with their ID (similar to the electronic system used for Withington and Fallowfield food bank referrals which will remain the same).

    The food banks are trying to deliver parcels to those unable to get to the food bank but this relies on having adequate volunteers. If we know of any people who are able to volunteer, and will pass a DBS check then please contact the food bank.
