Keep out bogus callers!

Silhoutte of a person
Keep out! That's the message to callers who don't show you a proper identity card.

We've recently received reports from local police that bogus callers are out and about across Southway neighbourhoods. So please remember to ask for photo identification if anyone calls.

One caller posed as a post officer worker, delivering a heavy package into the home, and needing identification from the tenant. While she went to get her passport, her handbag was stolen. A similar incident left one tenant without her handbag when she invited a worker in for a cup of tea, who was ‘waiting for her neighbour'. Another caller simply asked to read the meter.

Please don't worry. We're giving you this information so you can be aware of the way they work. All our staff carry photo identification and will happily show it you when they arrive on your doorstep. The same goes for any workers who are part of our home improvements - like Kinetics Group, Bramall Construction and Wates Living Space. And if you're still not sure after they've shown you their ID, please give us a call on 0161 448 4200. They won't mind being asked to wait while you check it.
