500 up . . . and counting!

It was flowers and chocolates time as we celebrated home improvement number 500 with a Southway tenant.
Our £107million programme will mean great home improvements for everyone: gleaming kitchens, sparkling bathrooms, safe and secure new windows, and lots more.
We started making improvements at the end of November 2007, and will kit out all 5,900 Southway homes to modern standards in the next four to five years. The 500 landmark shows that we’re well on the way.
Delighted
We were delighted to share the celebrations with Ellen Gavin, who’s lived in her Chorlton home for almost 40 years. Ellen is delighted too: “My new bathroom and kitchen have made such a difference to the house,” she said as she picked up her bouquet and basket of goodies.
“My new heating will keep me cosy this winter and keep my heating bills down too. The workers couldn’t have been better. They left the house so clean and tidy you wouldn’t know they’ve been.”
The work doesn’t stop here. We’re pressing on with high quality improvements to homes across the Southway area. And we’re looking forward to making many more tenants as happy as Mrs Gavin.
