Withington
Withington is about four miles south of the city centre. It is east of Princess Road and south of Wilbraham Road, within easy reach of other suburban centres like Chorlton and Didsbury. Most homes are west of Palatine Road. Princess Road is a major route into the city from the M56 and the motorway network.
Living in Withington
Withington is a cosmopolitan neighbourhood with traditional residential family areas alongside younger, vibrant communities. Withington village is a thriving centre, with a good range of shops, bars, restaurants and banks. There is a library, post office, citizens advice bureau and other amenities. There is excellent public transport to the city centre and other parts of south Manchester along the main roads, although some parts are a fair walking distance from these routes.

Housing in Withington
Withington has a mix of housing - about half the homes are owner-occupied, with plenty of private renting too. There are about 1,500 Southway homes here. Over half of them are two or three-bedroom houses. There are also flats in small blocks, and nearly 50 bungalows.
