Chorlton: Merseybank
Merseybank it is about four miles south of the city centre - between the popular areas of Chorlton and Didsbury. It's on the west side of Princess Road between Barlow Moor Road and the river Mersey. Princess Road is a major route into the city from the M56 and the motorway network.
Living in Merseybank
Although there are few shops in Merseybank itself, it is about one and a half miles to Chorlton centre, and a similar distance to Didsbury village. Both Chorlton and Didsbury have large supermarkets and a wide range of smaller shops, a choice of bars, restaurants, as well as banks, post office and library. There are more bars, restaurants, and shops on Burton Road in nearby Withington. Merseybank has its own local library, community centre, and doctor's surgery.
There are very frequent buses along Barlow Moor Road from Didsbury to the centre of Chorlton, the city centre and the university, and plenty of buses along Princess Road to the city centre and to Wythenshawe and the airport.

Housing in Merseybank
The wider Chorlton and West Didsbury area has a healthy mix of housing - with plenty of owner-occupied homes, private renting and public housing. Most homes in Merseybank are rented from Southway Housing Trust, or ex-council homes that were bought by their tenants. There are over 500 Southway Housing Trust homes here - mostly three-bed houses, and flats in small blocks - mostly built in the 1930s. There are a few bungalows too.
