First and foremost our thoughts are with those affected by the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in London yesterday.
Whilst Southway does not have any tower blocks in our housing stock, we would like to reassure our residents that your safety is our utmost priority.
All of our properties have robust fire safety measures in place and we carry out regular inspections and risk assessments of these and of all communal areas.
Following the incident yesterday we visited and carried out additional checks of these measures at our schemes and blocks. We can confirm that we have everything in place to mitigate the risk of fires.
As an extra precaution we will be writing to customers about fire safety measures and advising what to do in the event that a fire does occur.
In the meantime, if you live in a scheme or block, please read the FIRE ACTION NOTICE displayed in the communal area of your block which includes your fire action plan and fire assembly point.
