Community Commitment Day 2017!

8 Jun 2017

Our Community Commitment Day for 2017 took place on Thursday 1st June and we were so happy to see so many of you there - thank you for helping to make it a success.

This year we managed to complete 17 projects across your neighbourhoods.

We held local Fun Days for families at Arrowfield Road and Parrs Wood Road with bouncy castles and traditional games.

We made environmental improvements to the Sensory Garden at Withington baths, wood chipping in some of our green spaces and a major clearance job at the Mersey Bank Community Garden.

A team cooked food to be distributed to people who are currently street homeless.

Staff litter picked across Old Moat, door-knocked residents to encourage you to get involved in Burnage and provided Digital taster sessions and advice at Mersey Bank.

We painted St Christopher's Church Hall, garden furniture at Grove Lane and the volunteer areas at Burnage library.

And we worked in partnership with Withington Fire Station, Burnage Good Neighbours, Westcroft Community centre, and the RSPB at Chorlton Water Park to run community events.

We would love to hear any feedback you have about this year’s Community Commitment activities so please do get in touch. This is an annual event and so if you have any ideas about how we can help out in the community next year we’d like to hear them!
