Parking

Driveway and kerb-lowering

You can park a car on your property if you have a proper drive AND the kerb has been lowered.

You can put in a drive yourself - but you must get our permission first. We only say 'no' if there is a good reason - if the work would affect your neighbours, or be unsafe for example.

You cannot lower the kerb yourself. Manchester City Council must do it. They will charge you for the work - it usually costs around £500.

Getting permission

Please apply for permission at least 28 days before you plan to put in a drive. We'll visit you to check the work would be safe and assess the effect on the property. Don't start until you have got permission - you could end up having to put it all back again!
