Repair deadlines: examples

Here are our repair deadlines, and some examples of what type of work goes in each category.

emergencies

The problem must be very urgent. It has to be a threat to your health, safety or security - like a major water burst. Some jobs are emergency repairs only if a vulnerable person like a young baby, elderly person or disabled person lives in your home.

three days

Examples include a damaged tap, broken window, or a faulty gas fire.

five days

Examples include a toilet cistern ball valve, a broken bath panel or re-hanging a kitchen unit door.

three weeks

Examples include a leaking or blocked gutter, damaged roof slates, or fitting a new kitchen cupboard.

six weeks

Examples include fitting a new damp proof course, a new external door or new window frame.
