Claim benefits online

Housing Benefit is paid to people on a low income who rent their home. It can pay some or all of your rent depending on your circumstances - how much you earn, how many children you've got and so on.

Housing Benefit, and Council Tax Benefit, are paid by Manchester City Council.

How to claim

The fastest way to claim benefits is to apply online. You can use Online benefit calculator and claim (City Council website)

You can also use a paper application form: download a paper benefit claim form (City Council website), or contact the Benefit Service (City Council website)
