What We Are
/what-we-are-(1).jpg.aspx)
Southway was created by tenants' representatives and Manchester City Council to deliver an exciting package of home improvements and top-notch housing services.
We are completely separate and independent from the Council, but we work together on many issues such as tackling antisocial behaviour.
With our tenants, we are making careful use of millions of pounds to pay for vital improvements to bring all our housing up to the government's 'decent homes' standards. In many cases, we are exceeding those standards.

Who runs Southway?
A Board of twelve volunteers makes the policies and plans for Southway, sets our wider aims and objectives and makes sure our staff meet our high standards of service.
The Board comprises:
- Four tenants
- Four members nominated by Manchester City Council (Councillors and senior staff)
- Four independent members chosen for their specialist knowledge
Tenants who sit on the Board have the same decision-making powers as the rest of the members.
