The Board
A board of 12 volunteers makes policies and plans for Southway. It sets wider aims and objectives and makes sure that our staff meet standards of service.
There are four tenant board members. They have equal decision-making power with the four board members nominated by Manchester City Council, and with the four independent board members who are people with specialist knowledge.
How are Board DIrectors chosen?
- Tenant Members are chosen by their fellow tenants
- Manchester City Council choose four members who are Councilors or senior members of staff
- Independent Members are chosen by their fellow Board Members for their skills and experience
To ensure that Southway is managed effectively & efficiently the Board receives regular training and development and they go through an annual appraisal process.
Tenants and independent members can serve on the board for up to three years. For more information about our Board please click on one of the links below
